Ayurvedic massages

Ayurvedic massages are an integral part of Ayurvedic treatment that harmonizes body, mind and soul. Most Ayurvedic massages use copious amounts of warm natural oil to open the pores and bind toxins. These toxins are then drained from the body, promoting the healing and detoxifying nature of Ayurvedic massage.

How to prepare for Ayurvedic massages and how to follow up afterwards:

Before the massage:

  • Prepare health notes: Bring all relevant health information and records of your current condition. This information will help tailor the massage to your individual needs.
  • Light diet before massage: the day before your massage, prefer easily digestible foods. Avoid heavy meals, which promotes efficient digestion and absorption of healing elements.
  • Maintain hydration: ensure you are adequately hydrated, but do not drink a lot of fluids just before your massage. This will ensure better absorption of the healing oils and substances used during the massage.

After the massage:

  • Relax: After the massage, give yourself time to relax and unwind. Avoid strenuous activities to allow your body to fully absorb the healing effects of the massage.
  • Hydrate: Drink enough water to promote detoxification and elimination of waste products from the body.
  • Careful with your headgear: If you are having a head massage, we recommend wearing a head covering after the massage, especially in colder weather, to retain heat and maximize the beneficial effects of the massage.
